2026:  Back to Touring

Between the pandemic, the loss of venues, back surgery and the move to Floyd, Virginia in 2025, my calendar has been pretty empty.

I am intent on getting out on the road again, knowing in my soul that I am happier and more useful performing, than doing anything else.

I’m available for teaching concerts in schools, public concert series, coffeehouses, house concerts, guitar workshops, music camps and the like.  Please reach out and we’ll see if we can make a visit happen.

At this time in my life, making a difference is at least as important as making money. Respect, goodwill, and friendship have become revolutionary acts in our country. Join me in extending those!

Whirlybird – near Lafayette LA

November 10, 2018 @ 8:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Jim Phillips, Christy Leichty, and their crew of volunteers and friends are creating a music/dance/art scene in St. Landry Parish, north of Lafayette, LA. My friend David Greely introduced us and I’m looking forward to being part of the scene there.

Saturday evening concert sets.

Sunday, midday workshop. Details coming soon. Locations sent with email confirmation of your reservations.

Here’s what their site says:

Jim Phillips and his wife Christy Leichty are artists and educators who love Cajun and Creole music and the culture so dearly that they moved to Louisiana to help rebuild and work in education after the 2005 hurricanes.

“In addition to their educational endeavors there, they bought an old Texaco distribution center, moved it to a secret location, and outfitted it as a dance hall/theater called The Whirlybird. Some of the biggest names in Cajun music and beyond ‘pass a good time’ there.”

Sounds great, doesn’t it? Come!
