2026:  Back to Touring

Between the pandemic, the loss of venues, back surgery and the move to Floyd, Virginia in 2025, my calendar has been pretty empty.

I am intent on getting out on the road again, knowing in my soul that I am happier and more useful performing, than doing anything else.

I’m available for teaching concerts in schools, public concert series, coffeehouses, house concerts, guitar workshops, music camps and the like.  Please reach out and we’ll see if we can make a visit happen.

At this time in my life, making a difference is at least as important as making money. Respect, goodwill, and friendship have become revolutionary acts in our country. Join me in extending those!

Artichoke Music Guitar Workshop

October 13, 2018 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

We’ll have room for up to 19 guitarists at Artichoke Music. The workshop begins promptly at 2:30 and will run until 5:00, with a very short break in the middle. Bring guitars, a sound or video recording device (no YouTube/social media postings without my express permission, thank you) and something to write on and with.

“Anyone who plays guitar can learn a great deal from old masters of solo acoustic blues.Their strategies for playing solo guitar are useful across different genres of music.

“Solo blues players employ chord forms and strategic uses of the open strings. Their techniques allow guitarists freedom of movement on the fingerboard while providing sufficient harmonic support.

“My goal as a teacher is to serve the people who present themselves before me.

“In a workshop setting, this involves finding material that is both within and just beyond their reach, while pointing them down the path with the least obstacles to their personal success.”– Scott Ainslie
