W.E.B. DuBois' centennial events are being held all around his home town of Great Barrington, MA. Reggie and I are proud to be included in these celebrations. We'll be presenting at an Arts & Ideas Forum with students in the afternoon, followed by a performance of our concert program, "Long Time Comin'." As a right of passage for the eight graders, Dr. Phil Bailey and his colleagues have welcomed me into their school each year. This is an honor and a meeting of minds and talents that deserves singling out. I am always grateful to be invited again. Friday, March 16th, I'll join them for an hour of music and history focusing on the African roots of American music and the diversity of the blues across the country.

I've been invited to amplify part of the educational school day with my teaching concert "Across The Color Line." This is a look at how readily and easily musicians traded licks and structures across the color line, influencing both white and black musical traditions.
