At 7:30, this Tuesday evening, I'll be presenting a teaching concert on the roots and branches of the Blues – examining work and slave songs, African retentions, and the remarkable collage of cultures expressed in Delta, Ragtime Blues and slide guitar. Open to ticketed members of the community and campus guests, this wil be a 75 minute teaching concert with no intermission. We'll all be talking together afterwards and on our ways home by a little before 9:00.

W.E.B. DuBois' centennial events are being held all around his home town of Great Barrington, MA. Reggie and I are proud to be included in these celebrations. We'll be presenting at an Arts & Ideas Forum with students in the afternoon, followed by a performance of our concert program, "Long Time Comin'."
