I’ve been invited to amplify part of the educational school day with my teaching concert “Across The Color Line.” This is a look at how readily and easily musicians traded licks and structures across the color line, influencing both white and black musical traditions. One of the great pleasures of being a musician is that my allegiance is not to the color of my skin, but to the sounds that we make. This is true of all my brothers.
