Eric Frandsen send me a tape of I Got to Find My Baby back in 1987 and I've been singing it ever since. The tune comes from the playing of "Guitar" Pete Franklin and was recorded by him in 1961. It is attributed to Joe Clayton, but itss lyrics share a chorus with a willie Dixon tune of the same name. From my first hearing I knew I had to sing this song. how can you not sing a tune that refers to a crankcase, lubricant and two controlled substances all in one line?
